The Epic of the 3 Americas

The Origins

What would you do with a million?
It's the kind of throwaway question someone tosses at you in the middle of a casual conversation. In the moment, you come up with some silly answer for a laugh. Then later, lying in bed, the question echoes back.

But seriously — what would I do if I had a million?

Most of the time, when people think about what they'd do if they were millionaires, they're really imagining what they'd do if they were free to live their dreams, financially unshackled.

The great irony is that you probably don't need to be a millionaire to live your dreams. We certainly aren't. And even more ironically: if you dedicate your life to actually living those dreams, there's a good chance financial freedom will follow.

There's so much to say on this subject that I'll definitely come back to it in another post.

Choose Life by Daniel Prince

The idea for this journey — this epic road trip across the Americas — stems from Timothy Ferriss's concept of the "dreamline," reinterpreted in my own way. He explores it in his excellent book, which I highly recommend:
The 4-Hour Work Week.

If you want to go deeper, I'd suggest following it up with Choose Life by David Prince, which puts those ideas into concrete practice. Two books that genuinely blew my mind.

Of course, it also takes a certain dose of madness and a taste for adventure — but above all, it's a deep, burning desire for freedom and escape that drives us to take this journey.

So, What Exactly Is the Project?

part of the route plan

The plan is to let go of about 80% of everything we own, pack our motorcycles with only what we need to be self-sufficient, keep it as light as possible, and put the rest in storage until we come back… (assuming we ever decide to come back!)

The bikes ship by boat around September/October 2025.
We'll fly out about three weeks later to arrive in Montevideo, Uruguay.

From there, we'll head briefly north toward Paraguay, then push all the way south to Ushuaïa, before climbing back up along the Andes and continuing north. Our goal is to make it as far as Canada — or maybe even Alaska — to truly ride end to end.

Will You Be on Motorcycles Every Single Day?

We will indeed be spending the vast majority of our time on the bikes, covering a small slice of the Americas' 42 million km².

But to keep things interesting, there will be two recurring threads woven throughout the journey.

1. Meeting Bitcoiners and Orange Communities

The first thread is to connect with as many Bitcoiners and local Bitcoin communities as possible.

I'll probably share my personal take on Bitcoin in future posts — why I think it represents a genuine revolution in many ways, and why ignoring it is becoming increasingly risky.

We'll navigate using BTCmap and Club Orange to find communities, Bitcoin-accepting businesses, and fellow Bitcoiners along the way.

2. Visiting Kendo Dojos Along the Road

kendo

The second thread, suggested by a few kendo friends, is to seek out dojos wherever the road takes us.

We won't be able to bring our armor, but we'll pack our Hakama and Gi, hoping to borrow equipment on the spot to train with kendoka from the far corners of the world. Even without sparring, these encounters will be deeply enriching.

And as the world would have it: in the town of Rio Grande (the southernmost tip of Argentina, just 200 km from Ushuaïa), there is both a Bitcoin brewery and a kendo dojo!

A cold beer and a pizza paid in BTC after a kendo session at the end of the world… that's one serious milestone on this road trip.
